Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras were as different as, well, winter and summer. Almost.
Yesterday dawned cold and wet and grey. It stayed cold and wet and grey. We went out into the world to get out of the house and do some stuff. Like browse Barnes and Noble. Unfortunately, there isn't a B&N in Mobile. Not anymore. I wish there was. Not that I enjoyed the location of the one we used to have. We need a new one. Over here in West Mobile. If you're listening Barnes and Noble. I will single handedly keep you in business if you put in a store in West Mobile.
I have to drive across the bay to Spanish Fort to get to the nearest Barnes and Noble. On Lundi Gras. In the rain. And traffic. If there wasn't a way to bypass Mardi Gras parades that wouldn't have happened. But there is. I hate that bridge in the rain. It scares the bejeebes out of me. It scares me worse when the husband drives. He wasn't driving.
So, Sam's Club, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and Publix are all together in two shopping centers across the bay and... well, it's still a nice outing even if it was cold and wet and grey.
But today, the windows are open. The world is bright and sunny and warm enough for tank tops and linen pants.
Dawg wasn't too fond of the crinkly brown grass under his feet, but he went out and sunned himself. The cats are vampires. They keep to the shadows. They hiss at the sun. Weird ass cats.
Time to go through the kid's summer clothes. I swear I wish she'd stop growing.
Hope you had an excellent Mardi Gras.
May Spring find you early.
